光徳寺
We are a Pure Land Buddhist temple that was built in 1471. Every year we hold a memorial service for the great Rennyo on April 25th and 26th and display the revered Golden Amidabutsu he made as well as a number of other treasures from the time when he was in charge of the sect. Additionally, we have a famous exhibition of Shikou Munakataʼs artistic woodblock prints thanks to his relationship with the 18th chief priest Kansho Kosaka. Among those prints, a daring and magnificent artistic piece of pine trees called Kegonmatsu is printed on 6 Japanese sliding doors in the temple, and it is a must-see. It is called Munakataʼs masterpiece!
